iGamer is an independent, non-promotional knowledge portal. We collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and we do not carry advertising or affiliate tracking. Cookies that are not strictly necessary run only after you have said yes.

Who we are & how to reach us

The data controller for this site — the party responsible for the data described below — is iGamer, operated by Vadym Zelinskyi. For any privacy or data-protection question, including a request to access, correct, or erase data, or to withdraw consent, email [email protected]. We aim to respond within 30 days.

What we collect

Browsing iGamer does not require an account, and we do not ask for personal details to read the site. We use two categories of cookie, and nothing else:

• Essential cookies — strictly necessary to run the site: they remember your light/dark theme choice and your cookie-consent decision. These carry no analytics and are set on a legal basis of legitimate interest (the site cannot function correctly without them), so they do not require consent.
• Analytics cookies — set only if you consent. They let us understand, in aggregate, how the portal is used: which pages and glossary terms are read, what people search for, and the paths they take through the site. We use this to decide what to build and fix next. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Analytics

When you consent to analytics, we use PostHog as our analytics processor, configured to ingest data in the European Union. It records pseudonymised product-usage events (page views, searches, clicks and navigation paths) tied to a random per-browser identifier — never your name or an account — to give us the behavioural picture we need to improve the portal. We do not use it to build advertising profiles, and we do not combine it with data from other sites. The self-check and calculators on the site run entirely in your browser and are excluded from analytics capture, so the answers you enter are never sent anywhere.

No analytics cookies are set, and no usage data is collected, until you choose “Accept all” (or enable Analytics under Preferences). Choose “Reject non-essential” and only the two essential cookies above are used.

Separately, we run Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-preserving visitor count. It is cookieless: it sets and reads nothing on your device, collects no personal data and no cross-site identifier, and produces only aggregate figures such as page views, referring sites and countries. Because it stores nothing on your device and identifies no one, it runs for every visitor without a consent cookie, on a legal basis of legitimate interest. It exists for one reason: consent analytics only ever sees the people who opt in, so a cookieless count is the only honest measure of how many people the portal actually reaches.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the iGamer Briefing, we collect the email address you provide and use it only to send the “iGaming in 30 days” course and occasional cited briefings. It is processed by our email delivery provider on our behalf; we do not sell or share it, and we send no operator advertising. Subscribing is a clear opt-in, and every email carries a one-click unsubscribe that removes your address.

What we never do

• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with data brokers.
• We carry no operator advertising, affiliate links, or ad-network tracking.
• We do not track you across other websites, and we set no third-party advertising cookies.
• We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 — this is an adult (18+) site.

Your choices & rights

You are in control of analytics. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using Cookie settings — this reopens the cookie panel so you can turn analytics off (or on). Clearing your browser cookies also resets your choice, and we will ask again.

If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. To exercise any of these, email [email protected]. Because we store minimal data, most requests concern only the pseudonymised analytics record or, if you subscribed, your newsletter email.

Hosting & transfers

The site is delivered through Cloudflare, which routes traffic and provides TLS and security; Cloudflare may process technical connection data (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the site. Analytics data, when enabled, is processed by PostHog in the EU. We retain analytics data for 14 months on a rolling basis, after which it is deleted.

Changes to this notice

As the portal grows we will keep this page current — including naming any new processor before it goes live and re-asking for consent if what we collect materially changes. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
