iGamer is an independent, non-promotional knowledge portal. We collect as little as possible, we never sell your data, and we do not carry advertising or affiliate tracking. Cookies that are not strictly necessary run only after you have said yes.

Who we are & how to reach us

The data controller for this site — the party responsible for the data described below — is iGamer, operated by Vadym Zelinskyi. For any privacy or data-protection question, including a request to access, correct, or erase data, or to withdraw consent, email privacy@igamerhq.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.

What we collect

Browsing iGamer does not require an account, and we do not ask for personal details to read the site. We use two categories of cookie, and nothing else:

• Essential cookies — strictly necessary to run the site: they remember your light/dark theme choice and your cookie-consent decision. These carry no analytics and are set on a legal basis of legitimate interest (the site cannot function correctly without them), so they do not require consent.
• Analytics cookies — set only if you consent. They let us understand, in aggregate, how the portal is used: which pages and glossary terms are read, what people search for, and the paths they take through the site. We use this to decide what to build and fix next. The legal basis is your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.

Analytics

When you consent to analytics, we use PostHog as our analytics processor, configured to store data in the European Union. It records pseudonymised events tied to a random per-browser identifier — never your name or an account: the pages you view and how far down them you scroll, what you search for on the site, and a short list of named actions — finishing a lesson or quiz, answering a learning check, using an interactive tool, viewing a glossary term, sharing a page and subscribing to the newsletter. It does not record general clicks, keystrokes or screen recordings: automatic click capture, session replay, surveys and heatmaps are switched off in our code, so they cannot be turned on from a dashboard. We do not use analytics to build advertising profiles, and we do not combine it with data from other sites.

The self-check and calculators on the site run entirely in your browser, and what you enter in them is never sent anywhere. At most we record that a tool was used and, for a learning check or a prediction, whether the answer was right. The Player Protection self-check records nothing at all.

No analytics cookies are set, and no usage data is collected, until you choose “Accept all” (or enable Analytics under Preferences). Choose “Reject non-essential” and only the two essential cookies above are used. If you later withdraw consent, collection stops at once and the analytics cookie is deleted.

Separately, we run Cloudflare Web Analytics — a privacy-preserving visitor count. It is cookieless: it sets and reads nothing on your device, collects no personal data and no cross-site identifier, and produces only aggregate figures such as page views, referring sites and countries. Because it stores nothing on your device and identifies no one, it runs for every visitor without a consent cookie, on a legal basis of legitimate interest. It exists for one reason: consent analytics only ever sees the people who opt in, so a cookieless count is the only honest measure of how many people the portal actually reaches.

Newsletter

If you subscribe to the iGamer Briefing, we collect the email address you give us and use it only to send a welcome note and then a short, cited briefing when the rules we track change. We do not sell or share it, and we send no operator advertising.

Your address is held by Loops, the email service that stores our list and sends the Briefing on our behalf from the United States (see who processes data for us). Alongside it, Loops keeps the date you subscribed and your subscription status. Our emails may use standard open and link tracking, which tells us whether an email was opened and which of its links were clicked; we use that only to judge whether the Briefing is worth sending.

The legal basis is your consent, which you give by subscribing and can withdraw at any time. Every email carries a one-click unsubscribe that stops all email at once. We keep your address while you are subscribed; after you unsubscribe, it is kept only as a do-not-email record, which is what stops it being mailed again. To have it deleted entirely, email privacy@igamerhq.com and we will delete it within 30 days.

What we never do

• We do not sell, rent, or share your data with data brokers.
• We carry no operator advertising, affiliate links, or ad-network tracking.
• We do not track you across other websites, and we set no third-party advertising cookies.
• We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18 — this is an adult (18+) site.

Your choices & rights

You are in control of analytics. You can change or withdraw your consent at any time using Cookie settings — this reopens the cookie panel so you can turn analytics off (or on). Clearing your browser cookies also resets your choice, and we will ask again.

If you are in the EU/EEA or the UK, you have the right to access, correct, or erase personal data we hold, to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your data-protection authority. To exercise any of these, email privacy@igamerhq.com. Because we store minimal data, most requests concern only the pseudonymised analytics record or, if you subscribed, your newsletter email.

Who processes data for us & transfers

These companies process personal data on our behalf, and only for the purpose given. Where data leaves the UK or EEA, we name the safeguard the transfer relies on.

• Cloudflare (Cloudflare, Inc., United States) delivers and protects the site (network, TLS, security), runs our cookieless visitor count, and routes email sent to our @igamerhq.com addresses. Data: technical connection data such as IP address, for every visit, and the contents of any email you send us. Where: Cloudflare’s global network, including the United States. Safeguard: the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, and EU Standard Contractual Clauses (with the UK Addendum) in Cloudflare’s data processing addendum.
• PostHog (PostHog Inc., United States) measures how the portal is used — only if you accept analytics cookies. Data: pseudonymised usage events tied to a random per-browser identifier. Where: PostHog’s EU cloud, hosted in Germany. Safeguard: data is stored in the EU; any access from the United States is covered by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework, under which PostHog is certified.
• Loops (Astrodon Corporation, which operates Loops, United States) stores the newsletter list and sends the iGamer Briefing — only if you subscribe. Data: your email address, when you subscribed and your subscription status, plus — where email tracking is switched on — whether an email was opened and which of its links were clicked. Where: the United States, including Amazon Web Services, which Loops uses to host its service and send email. Safeguard: the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and its UK Extension, under which Astrodon Corporation is certified.

We retain analytics data for 14 months on a rolling basis, after which it is deleted. Newsletter retention is described above.

Changes to this notice

As the portal grows we will keep this page current — including naming any new processor before it goes live and re-asking for consent if what we collect materially changes. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
