Terms & content licence
iGamer is an independent, non-promotional knowledge portal about the iGaming (online gambling) industry. These terms explain the rules for using it, and the licence that covers its content. In short: read freely, cite us with attribution — but the content is ours, and wholesale copying is reserved. This is an adult (18+) educational resource, not a gambling operator and not advice.
1. Accepting these terms
By accessing or using iGamer (the “site”) you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. We may update these terms as the portal grows; the “last updated” date above always reflects the current version, and continued use after a change means you accept it.
2. What iGamer is — and is not
iGamer is an independent, editorial, educational resource. We explain how the iGaming industry works — the mathematics, the terminology, the regulation — so that people can understand it. We are not a gambling operator, we do not offer or facilitate any form of gambling, and we do not take bets or handle stakes. We are non-promotional: we do not rank, rate, review, or refer operators, and we carry no operator advertising or affiliate links.
Nothing on the site is an inducement to gamble. We describe expected loss over time and the house edge precisely because the maths favours the operator — never as encouragement.
3. Eligibility (18+)
This is an adult site. By using it you confirm you are at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction, if higher). The site is not directed at, and must not be used by, anyone under that age.
4. Educational only — not advice
The content is general information for education and understanding. It is not legal, financial, tax, or professional advice, and it is not personalised guidance about whether, where, or how to gamble. Regulations, tax rates and licensing change and vary by jurisdiction; you are responsible for knowing and following the laws that apply to you. Always seek qualified professional advice before acting on anything you read here.
5. Intellectual property & content licence
All content on the site — text, lessons, the glossary, regulator and standards profiles, data tables, interactive tools, code, design, and the structured data behind them — is © iGamer, all rights reserved, and is protected by copyright and, where applicable, database rights. “iGamer” and the iGamer mark and logo are ours.
You may, without asking us first:
- read, link to, and share links to any page;
- quote short excerpts for non-commercial, editorial, research or educational purposes, provided you clearly attribute iGamer and link to the source page. Being cited — by readers, journalists, educators, search engines and AI answer engines — is exactly what this resource is built for, and is welcome on those terms.
You may not, without our prior written permission:
- reproduce, republish, mirror, or redistribute substantial portions of the content;
- systematically scrape, harvest, or bulk-extract the content or the structured data (including via automated tools or the search index), or use it to build or populate a competing product or database;
- use the content or its structured data to train, fine-tune, or build commercial AI models or datasets for redistribution;
- sell, licence, or otherwise commercialise the content; or
- remove, obscure, or misrepresent attribution, sourcing, or provenance information.
The distinction is simple: citing us (a quote, with credit and a link) supports the site and is encouraged; copying us (reproducing the corpus, or scraping it to clone or train on) is reserved. If you want to do more than the licence above allows, ask us.
6. Acceptable use
When using the site you agree not to:
- use it for any unlawful purpose, or to promote or facilitate gambling to anyone;
- interfere with, disrupt, or place an unreasonable load on the site or its infrastructure, or bypass any technical protection or rate limit;
- misrepresent the content, present it as your own, or imply endorsement that does not exist;
- impersonate iGamer or use our name, mark or logo without permission.
7. Accuracy, provenance & corrections
We work hard to be accurate: volatile facts are dated, cited to a primary source, and reviewed on a schedule, and a content validator and freshness process guard against drift. Even so, the content is provided on a best-effort basis and may contain errors or become out of date, and we give no guarantee that it is complete, current, or fit for any particular purpose. If you spot something wrong, our corrections process is the fastest way to have it fixed.
8. Third-party links
The site links to external resources — regulators, standards bodies, and independent responsible-gambling and support services. We provide these for reference and do not control them; we are not responsible for their content, availability, or practices, and a link is not an endorsement. Those sites have their own terms and policies.
9. No warranties
The site and its content are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including as to accuracy, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, iGamer and the people behind it will not be liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or reliance on, the site or its content — including, without limitation, any gambling decisions, losses, or harm. Any gambling you choose to do is entirely your own decision and at your own risk. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Responsible gambling
We teach understanding, not harm reduction, and we are not a treatment or support service. If gambling is causing you or someone you know difficulty, please reach out to an independent support service in your country. We signpost several throughout the site; contacting them is free and confidential.
12. Governing law & contact
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the operator of iGamer is established, and any dispute will be subject to the courts of that jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have where you live. A dedicated contact channel for legal and licensing enquiries is being set up and will be listed here; in the meantime, permission requests under the content licence above can be directed to the operator once that channel is published.
Note: these terms describe how iGamer itself works and are provided in plain English for clarity — they are not themselves legal advice. See also our Privacy & cookies notice.
