NMi originated from the privatisation of the Dutch Legal Metrology Service in 1989 and is best known as a broad metrology, testing and certification institute (measuring instruments, weighing, oil and gas, e-marks and more). Its gaming division, NMi Gaming, grew into a compliance-testing and auditing laboratory covering online and land-based games, IT-security auditing and lottery certification, with laboratories in the Netherlands, UK, Italy, Spain and Canada.
