Player Wallet Reconciliation
The process of checking that the wallet's recorded balances and transactions match across all systems and with providers, so no money is lost, duplicated or unaccounted for.
Definition
Player wallet reconciliation is the routine, systematic checking that every debit and credit in the wallet is consistent, complete and matches the records held by connected systems: game providers, aggregators, payment providers and jackpot networks. It detects and resolves discrepancies caused by timeouts, failed transfer-backs, retries, or provider errors, for example a bet debited but the win not credited, a stranded transfer-wallet balance, or a mismatch between the operator's and a provider's transaction logs. Reconciliation relies on complete, idempotent transaction records and unique identifiers for every round and transfer. It is fundamental to financial integrity and is scrutinised in audits, since a regulator and the operator both need confidence that player funds are accurately accounted for at all times.
Worked example
A nightly reconciliation compares the operator wallet's bet and win records against a game provider's logs and flags one round where a stake was debited but no result was recorded, a mid-round disconnect; the discrepancy is investigated and the player is corrected before it compounds.
Why it matters
For learners, it is the accounting check that makes sure the money adds up and nothing goes missing. For professionals, reconciliation protects financial integrity and is a focus of audits, so understanding how discrepancies arise and are resolved is essential for finance, payments and platform teams.
