Lightning Roulette and its cousins add huge random multipliers — funded by a smaller base win or an added fee.
'Lightning' and multiplier live games (Lightning Roulette, XXXtreme Lightning Roulette, Lightning Baccarat/Blackjack, Lightning Dice) bolt random multipliers onto a classic game: 50×–500× on Lightning Roulette's lucky numbers, up to 2,000× in XXXtreme Lightning Roulette. The multipliers are exciting but not free. Lightning Roulette pays for them by reducing the normal straight-up win, while Lightning Baccarat and Lightning Blackjack add a 'Lightning Fee' to each bet. In Lightning Roulette the result is a slightly lower RTP than the plain game: a variance trade of bigger occasional wins for a marginally worse edge.
How the multiplier is funded
In Lightning Roulette, a few numbers each round are struck by lightning and carry a 50×–500× multiplier. To pay for that, a winning straight-up bet pays 29:1 instead of the standard 35:1 when it is not multiplied. That reduction is exactly what funds the occasional huge multiplied hit.
The RTP trade-off
The net effect is a lower RTP on the affected bets: Lightning Roulette returns about 97.1% on straight-up numbers versus 97.30% for standard European roulette. Even-money bets (red/black) are unaffected because they cannot be multiplied, so they keep the full 97.30%. You trade a sliver of edge for a shot at a big multiplier.
Higher variance, not better value
Multiplier games concentrate return into rare, heavily-multiplied wins, so sessions swing harder: more dead spins, the occasional spike. That is a volatility choice, identical in spirit to a high-variance slot. The multiplier is a warning label about the ride, not a sign of generosity.
