Wilds, Scatters & Multipliers
The symbol toolkit — wilds, scatters and multipliers — and how they combine to build (or gate) wins.
Beyond the regular pay symbols, slots use special symbols to shape outcomes: wilds substitute for others, scatters trigger features regardless of position, and multipliers scale wins. These are the levers designers use to concentrate RTP into features and to dial volatility up or down.
A wild substitutes for regular symbols to complete a win. Variants include expanding (fills a reel), sticky (stays for respins), walking (shifts each spin), stacked, and multiplier wilds (which also scale the win). The more wild power a game leans on, the higher its volatility tends to be.
Scatters pay or trigger features by count, anywhere on the grid, rather than along a line. Landing three or more scatters is typically the gate to the main feature — where a large share of the game's RTP is held — which is why the base game between triggers can feel thin.
A multiplier scales a win (2×, 5×, 100×) and may be fixed, progressive (rising through a feature) or global. Multiplier mechanics are the main driver of the biggest hits — and of the long dry spells, because the RTP shifts toward rare, heavily-multiplied wins.
Wilds, multipliers and scatters combine: a multiplier wild inside a free-spins round with a rising global multiplier is how a slot reaches its max win. That concentration is exactly why the base game feels flat — the RTP is waiting in the feature, not in every spin.
Education, not advice. This explains how the game works so you can read it clearly — it is not a system to beat the house. Every casino game carries a house edge; over enough play it wins. 18+.
