ISO/IEC 17025

Testing & calibration laboratory competenceissuer ISO/IECversion 2017verified 2026-08

ISO/IEC 17025 specifies the general requirements for the competence, impartiality and consistent operation of testing and calibration laboratories. In iGaming it is the foundation of the game-testing ecosystem: independent labs such as GLI, eCOGRA and iTech Labs hold ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation to demonstrate they are competent to test RNGs, verify return-to-player (RTP) figures and confirm game fairness. Accreditation to this standard is what lets regulators and operators trust a lab's certificates.

A standard is a ruleset, not a promise. A certificate against ISO/IEC 17025 attests that a game or system met it at test time — it does not change the house edge or guarantee a session outcome. This is a teaching summary; confirm against the issuer (ISO/IEC).
