GLI-11

Gaming Devices in Casinosissuer Gaming Laboratories International (GLI)version v3.0verified 2026-08

GLI-11 sets the technical requirements a physical gaming device must meet before a jurisdiction will accept it for use in a casino. First published in 1999, it has become one of the most recognised and adopted gaming-device standards in the world. It covers everything from the RNG and game mathematics to critical memory, accounting meters, and cash-handling peripherals such as bill validators and ticket printers. GLI-11 is the land-based counterpart to the online-focused GLI-19.

A standard is a ruleset, not a promise. A certificate against GLI-11 attests that a game or system met it at test time — it does not change the house edge or guarantee a session outcome. This is a teaching summary; confirm against the issuer (Gaming Laboratories International (GLI)).
